Blended learning. Why blend online or e-learning and instructor-led training? It’s simple: we can reach more people, more efficiently and more effectively. Imagine that all caregivers received the same foundational training. Your hands’ on, classroom or mentored training could build on the basics. With blended learning, caregivers can grow from a solid foundation, and blossom in the jobs that fit for them.
Online training. Can caregivers or entry level staff members really learn over the internet? Can they understand and use the technology required? Isn’t it complicated? These are the questions that most trainers have when they are new to online training, also called “e-learning” or “distance education.”
All these terms refer to training material that is delivered via the internet. And of course, like any form of training, the actual outcome varies dramatically. At aQuire, we’ve become experts in outcome by continually challenging our course developers to engage the learner, capture their emotions as well as their attention, shape their values and beliefs, and truly build knowledge and skills – so that the outcome is measurable.
Our courses are built for busy adults; we know that we must capture and keep their interest, and make learning relevant and memorable.

Partnerships for Training. We’re passionate about great training – and we know that the very best training requires both foundational learning and hands’ on practice. That’s why we’re building a network of Training Partners who share our commitment to reaching more people – training more caregivers – to meet the coming needs. Current Training Partnerships include:
- Certified Nursing Assistant Training: If you have a CNA training program or want to start one, consider the advantage of adding an online option for the classroom portion of the course. Students today are technology saavy, and prefer the flexibility of e-learning whenever possible. Add students, revenue and training reach without adding classroom space or instructors. Who we are. We’re a team of people committed to bringing quality training, resources and support to the full range of individuals who provide care to elders. The founders bring years of operational and programming experience as past developers, owners and operators of assisted living communities – where they learned how very important training is to fulfilling the mission of the community.
President and CEO, Sharon K. Brothers, MSW, says, “When my husband and I sold our assisted living communities, we decided to invest in the future of caregiving by blending what we knew with the technology to share that knowledge on a global scale through the reach of the internet.
“It was a business decision that has been exciting and rewarding – though challenging at times.
“But when my mother needed skilled nursing care after a car accident, and later my husband’s mom needed end of life care in a long term care facility, the challenge to improve the quality of care became personal.
“Today, we’re focused on collaborating with others to truly change the face of care in this country – and I believe we can do it, together.”
We offer a variety of training approaches, for a variety of learners:
aQuire Training Solutions is the overall company providing caregiver and staff training for nursing facilities, assisted living communities and home care staff.
EasyCEU provides continuing education training for leaders in senior care: nursing home and assisted living administrators, nurses, social workers and family therapists. All EasyCEU courses are accredited by national boards for senior care professionals.
Institute for Professional Care Education (IPCed) is an online career school licensed by the Oregon Department of Education. Its mission is to provide pre-employment training to individuals interested in entering professions in health and senior care.
